Copyright & DMCA Policy

How to report copyright infringement on Chordize AI, how we respond, and how counter-notices work.

Plain-language summary: If you believe content you own the rights to has been used or reproduced on Chordize AI without your permission, tell us. We follow the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) notice-and-takedown process, and equivalent processes under Canadian, EU, and UK law. Send a properly formatted notice to support@chordize.com.

1. Our position on copyright

Chordize AI respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users of the Service to do the same. We do not permit content on Chordize AI that infringes the copyright or other intellectual property rights of any person. Repeat infringers will have their accounts terminated.

Because Chordize AI is an AI service that lets users submit prompts and receive AI-generated outputs, most "content" on the platform is user-submitted or model-generated in real time and is not publicly hosted. Where user content is stored or made accessible (for example, saved outputs, shared links, or marketplace listings once introduced), this policy applies.

2. Filing a DMCA notice

If you are a copyright owner or the authorized agent of one, and you believe that content on Chordize AI infringes your copyright, please send a written notice by email to support@chordize.com, with the subject line "DMCA Notice". Your notice must include all of the following:

  1. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner, or a person authorized to act on the owner's behalf;
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed, or, if multiple works, a representative list;
  3. Identification of the material claimed to be infringing and where it can be found on Chordize AI (URLs, account handles, prompt IDs, listing IDs, or other locators specific enough that we can find it);
  4. Your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address;
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; and
  6. A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.

Notices that do not contain all of the above may not be actionable. Please note that making a knowingly false or bad-faith copyright claim can expose you to legal liability, including damages and legal fees under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).

3. What happens after we receive a notice

When we receive a compliant notice, we will typically:

4. Filing a counter-notice

If your material was removed and you believe it was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to support@chordize.com. Your counter-notice must include:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature;
  2. Identification of the material that was removed and its location before removal;
  3. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief that the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification;
  4. Your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address; and
  5. A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district in which you are located (or, if outside the U.S., of any judicial district in which Chordize AI may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original DMCA notice or that person's agent.

If we receive a compliant counter-notice, we may forward it to the original claimant. We may restore the material 10–14 business days after receipt of the counter-notice unless the original claimant informs us that they have filed a court action seeking to restrain the alleged infringement.

5. Requests under laws other than the DMCA

The DMCA is a U.S. statute. If you are outside the United States, you may still send us a copyright notice, and we will handle it in a way that is consistent with local law, including:

Please still include the elements listed in Section 2 above so we can act on your notice quickly.

6. Repeat infringer policy

We maintain a policy of terminating, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users we consider to be repeat infringers. In deciding whether a user is a repeat infringer we may consider the number of valid notices we have received about the user, the severity of each incident, whether the user has issued good-faith counter-notices, and other relevant factors.

7. Trade marks, other IP, and non-copyright claims

Trade mark, publicity-right, defamation, privacy, and other non-copyright complaints should also be sent to support@chordize.com (or, for privacy specifically, to support@chordize.com). Please describe the right you claim, the material at issue, and why you believe it is unlawful. We will investigate and respond as reasonably practicable.
