How to install and run the Windows app

Download the Windows installer, run the setup, and sign in with your website account. Once the app is running, it appears in the system tray, where you can open it and select your preferred model. You can then either use your saved custom prompt for a structured response style, or type a direct query in the overlay for a quick one-off request. Then highlight text anywhere on your screen and use the hotkeys to analyze, copy, validate AI, or detach the overlay.

1. Download the Windows installer using the button on this page.
2. Open the installer from your Downloads folder.
3. Allow Windows to continue if a permission prompt appears.
4. Complete the setup by following the on-screen steps.
5. Launch Chordize AI from your desktop or Start menu.
6. Sign in with the same account you use on the website.
7. Open the app from the system tray and choose your preferred model.
8. Choose how you want to work — use your saved custom prompt for repeated tasks, or ask directly in the overlay for quick one-off queries.
9. Select text anywhere in a browser, document, or other app.
10. Use the hotkeys below to work instantly across apps.

• Alt + F8 — Analyze selected text
• Alt + F9 — Hide or close the overlay
• Alt + F6 — Copy response
• Alt + F7 — Turn AI validation on or off
• Alt + F10 — Detach the overlay window

Tip: Use a saved custom prompt when you want consistent results for repeated tasks. Use a direct overlay query when you want to ask something quickly without changing your saved setup.

About memory & token usage: A direct query in the overlay keeps short conversation memory, so each follow-up also sends the recent exchange back to the model. This makes replies feel context-aware, but it can use more tokens (and therefore more wallet credit) than a single one-off prompt. To treat every message as brand new and avoid carrying memory, type /new and press Enter before your prompt — this starts a fresh chat with no prior context. Note that turning on the Search web feature can also increase token usage, because retrieved web results are added to the request.
